Context
My Account is a customer facing web portal which caters to the needs of policyholders. This portal creates an all in one place for customers to access all of their important insurance documents, contact their independent agent and pay bills.
My role as lead UX/UI Designer for this product helped ease burdens found during user testing and created refreshed branding for an improved look and feel.

Starting with the Basics
An initial audit of the original web portal addressed some of the most pressing issues. This included noting inconsistencies with fonts, styling, functions, and accessibility issues . It was clear that the user flow needed improvements and the site lacked branding.

The Meat & Bones
Trimming the excess fat was crucial in order to provide a quality user experience.
As a UX designer, I spearheaded the product design of a user-centric website tailored for insurance policyholders. In collaboration with my agile team, business stakeholders, and end-users, we recognized the importance of simplicity and a well-defined branding strategy.
Starting with an extensive discovery phase and initial wireframes, I laid the groundwork for the project's vision. Subsequently, I crafted a series of mockups and conducted user testing to collect valuable feedback for refining the designs.
Throughout the iterative design process, I integrated user feedback to ensure the final product aligns with their needs and expectations. While prioritizing usability and branding, we successfully created an intuitive and captivating digital platform that simplifies administrative tasks, streamlines communication, and enhances the overall policyholder experience.
Design System
I collaborated with my UX team to create a design system using atomic design principles. We leveraged Figma to make reusable components and worked closely with the marketing team to establish branding guidelines for Main Street America. This comprehensive design system served as the foundation for all products at the company, ensuring consistency and coherence across the board.
Working on this project required me to learn how to design components in Figma, which not only resulted in effective brand creation, but also provided team building opportunities with my fellow designers and developers.
